Details of the 2024/2025 Monash University Research Scholarships

Below are Key submission and outcome Deadline dates for Monash University Research Scholarships 2024-25 International applications and DOMESTIC Enrolment period R1 and 2 open by 1 September to 31 March and 2 July – December while R3 open 1 April3 to 31 August January – June of the following year

However, the opening dates may be adjusted if the date falls on a weekend and the closing date for R1/2024 (International) has been extended to April 2024 due to the Easter close-down period while R3/2024 (International) will open on 5 April 2024.

Applying is a three-step process.

1. Check your eligibility

  • Admission into a Monash graduate research degree is dependent upon meeting the entry requirements specific to the course for which you are applying.

  • All graduate research degrees have minimum academic entry requirements which must be met by all applicants. Some courses have additional requirements which are outlined in the relevant course entry in the Monash University handbook.
  • The minimum academic entry requirements differ depending on the graduate research degree:

  • English language proficiency
  • All graduate research degrees require sound English language skills. It is important you understand what English language proficiency requirements are applicable, noting that certain faculties have higher requirements.
  • Should you be required to undertake an English language proficiency test, ensure you check which tests are accepted by Monash uni

2. Submit an expression of interest

  • Prior to applying for a graduate research degree, you will need to submit an expression of interest (EOI) to the relevant faculty or academic unit.*
    Each faculty has a different EOI process so please read any instructions provided carefully (including guidance on contacting potential supervisor/s) and make sure you are aware of any applicable closing dates, particularly if you are applying for a scholarship.

3. Submit your application

Applications for a PhD, research masters, course transfer and/or centrally managed scholarships are submitted through the Graduate Research Admission and Scholarship Application portal.

However you need to know that you are to submit one application per scholarship round or admission year i.e. January – June and July – December. Therefore, you are not to submit multiple applications if you are undecided on your preferred course and/or faculty.
